I have officially boycotted Roku and TCL products because of this nonsense, I hope others do also. Their prices are really no longer competitive with other offers on the lower priced brands. I just bought a new TV for a friend and it most certainly wasn't a TCL their prices couldn't compare with the offers being made by others (No I'm not talking Samsung and LG), even on 3-4 year old series 4 and 5 models.
Bottom line, they have a serious issue with sound, they aren't addressing it, eventually this issue will start hitting popular podcasts and blogs and they will start taking a big hit on new customers buying their **bleep**. The return rates will start getting higher. They they may hire someone to solve the issues.
The TCL rep assigned to my case (issues with TCL soundbar AND issues with audio sync on several TCL TVs) has told me that they are aware of the problem and are working with Roku to fix it. Honestly, I'm not holding my breath... They have been able to reproduce the issues I've reported with the soundbar and all they've done is send me 3 replacements, all of which have had the same problems. And they are aware of the audio sync issues but this thread is what, a year old or so?
Very disappointing. Like I've mentioned, I just bought the 65R635 TV so I don't plan on buying another TV for a long time but the next TV I buy will likely not be a TCL or have anything to do with Roku.
Restart the Roku device after unplugging it and waiting about 60 seconds. Roku tvs unplug and wait 60 seconds and restart. This works for me. B.K.Smith
