Hulu showing black screen with sound

i've tried restarting my roku, deleting the hulu app, and checking it for updates but still nothing is working. I don't encounter this problem on any of my other roku devices, the one that i am using is a roku LE and the other device it works on is a 50" onn. roku tv. Is it a bug across certain Roku devices or is something wrong with my device specifically? Or a problem with the Hulu app? If anyone can provide a fix for this that would be awesome.

We noticed that you're experiencing issues with Hulu, and we're here to help!

Have you tried checking the latest software version of the Roku device? (Check under Settings > System > About).

In the meantime, to ensure you followed the right steps to resolve this, try following these steps.

    1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press Star to open the Options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.
    2. Restart your Roku device (Important after removing the app): Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
    3. Reinstall the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

Let us know if that works!

This did not work. Will not continue to delete an app just because the product refuses to work with it. I’ve been having the same issue and will return mine. No point in paying for an item if I can’t watch my subscriptions.

    • Tracker ID (Press Home five times, then press Back button five times)
    • App build version (Highlight the app from the Home Screen and press the Star * Button)

I am also getting a black screen with sound when playing a Hulu movie.  I can see the screens where you select the show, but a black screen once I start the show.  If I fast forward i can see the thumbnail at the bottom, but when I go back to play, black screen.

        Hey whereupon

It looks like you're having an issue with your Hulu app, which displays a black screen when you start watching a show.

We'd like to know what troubleshooting steps you have taken to fix the issue. Also, does it happen to all content inside this app? In the meantime, try updating the app and restarting your Roku device.
