HDCP error caused by bad connection

I randomly have HDCP errors on my Express 4K+ SN S07P21DRDUVT.  I have isolated it to a bad connection.  I can wiggle the connection and it comes on and may go back off.

I do not know if this device still has any warranty, but I do wish the use of micro USB would be abandoned.  I have had many issues with other devices and micro USB ports.

I have 3 ROKU streaming devices at this time, but have had several others over the years.  I have never had issues with normal USB ports, just the micro ports.  They seem to become loose and lose connection.

I don't feel I should have to pay for a new device as this is faulty device.

    Hi dwmilli99,

A warm welcome here at the Roku Community!

We appreciate your post regarding the HDCP error on your Roku device, and we'd be more than willing to help.

To prevent network issues caused by loose wiring hooked up to the micro USB port resulting in an HDCP error, you can actually try to make use of a wired network connection or Ethernet option on your device by following this article: How to use USB to connect your Roku streaming device to a wired network

In addition, to tighten wires on your device through the TV, you can actually make use of the adhesives that come within the box. In this way, you can properly set up your device so that it is not prone to detachments.

Let us know what you find out.

    Warm regards,
    Janadee
