HBO Max Keeps starting at same episode next time I start series

I am having the same issue, only on my Roku tv, this is happening with any show that I try watching, Friends, Big Bang Theory, etc. every time I turn of my tv and turn it back on and try to resume a show I end up rewatching the same episode I previously watched. I have also tried signing out, deleting and reinstalling the app and resetting my tv but nothing is working.

    I have tried other devices that are not Roku and I don't have the problem. It appears to be just with Roku and no one knows how to fix it.
