Google App on Roku

Has anyone else’s Google search app come up as “expired” and then it says I must pay $4.99 for “Fast Internet Browser”? I deleted it then re-added it and the same thing comes up. It happens with every search I do for Google apps. Three different apps for Google came up with every one of them doing the same thing. And now my Youtubetv app wont play.

      Hi JohnB,

      no errors or codes. Just the advertisement. I added 3 other Google apps and they all did the same thing. As did my Roku search app. And like I said my Youtubetv will open, the logo comes on as usual, then the screen turns black. I have a Hisense 6 series Roku tv if that helps. I thought I could maybe clear the cache but do not think it has one.

        I appreciate the steps you are taking. Here are a few additional steps you might try:

        • Remove the App: Highlight the app tile on your home screen, press Star, select "Remove channel," and confirm.
        • Restart your Roku device: Go to Settings > System > Power > System restart > Restart Now.
        • Reinstall the App: After restarting your Roku device, go to the Roku Streaming Store and add the channel again.

    Hi RheaV, 

    as stated above, I tried that… repeatedly. I’ve turned my tv off, then on, I unplugged my tv for about a half hour, then plugged back in. Nothing will get rid of that ad for me to pay that I have tried so far. How easy is it for someone to put stuff like that on my tv??????
