Okay so this is confusing and I have experienced this on several occasions. I am subscribed to the platform in which it says it’s free however upon opening the app and finding the movie it’s not free. Please explain how this is not a bug because it’s not in another app that says free and the other three ways to watch all give a price. Any help or light to be shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
It is a bug, but the bug belongs to Amazon Prime, not Roku. They provide the information to Roku about their content for the search functions, and in this case they seem to have their information wrong about free content. If you instead go to the Prime Video app and search for that movie, do you find a free version available?
OK, I think I see what the issue is. Look at that image, and directly below the title it says "Coming to Prime in 4 days". I went to Amazon's web site and see the same thing. So if you are a Prime member it appears it will be free in four days from today (so July 25?). That tells me Amazon didn't code the title properly in the database that Roku uses to retrieve the information.
OK, today is July 26. I just logged into Amazon and Wicked is now indeed available for free for Prime members. Just be aware that Amazon now has ads on some of their content, and this appears to be one of them. I haven't watched anything on Prime with ads, so I can't say if the ads are only at the beginning or if they're scattered within the movie.
I'm not sure, but it looks like you're choosing the "Bonus X-Ray Edition" which is not free. What happens if in the earlier screen you choose "Watch on TV"?
That’s what happens when I choose watch on TV. And I don’t get any other options.
