Can I Playback a basketball game tonight on Peacock using my Roku device

I want to playback (or record) the Michigan State bball game which is on Peacock tonight at 6pm CST.   Can I do this somehow as I am busy until about 8pm?        Will I be able to playback the game after it ends on Peacock.

  • Hi NordicDude,

We will be more than happy to answer your inquiry. Please be advised that Peacock only allows you to replay major sports events (i.e., national-level games) after 24 hours of the same. The replays are usually shown on the same channel(s) that the original event was broadcast on after 24 hours have passed.

If you need anything else, please let us know.

    Best regards,

    John

  • Yes — you can use your Peacock app on your Roku device to watch the Michigan State Spartans basketball game tonight. Here are the key points and caveated

    ✅ What you can do

Peacock supports Roku devices (for a compatible model) so you can stream live and on-demand content.

The game (as a Big Ten basketball matchup) is being streamed on Peacock.

After it ends, if it is made available as an on-demand replay, you should be able to watch it in Peacock’s library. For example, Peacock shows “Watch Replay” on past game.

⚠️ What you can’t reliably do

Peacock does not have a built-in DVR/cloud-record feature that lets you manually set a recording and have the stream saved for later start regardless.

Even if the event is available for replay, sometimes it may take some time (e.g., hours or perhaps a day) before the full game is available to watch from the start. In a Roku community thread:

    > “Peacock only allows you to replay major sports events … after 24 hours of the same.”

On Roku, you cannot treat it like a live TV channel where you join halfway and rewind to the very start unless the stream offers a “start from beginning” for the live feed. Some users noted you can’t do that consistently.

🎯 What this means for your scenario

Since you said you’ll be busy until about 8 pm CST and the game starts at 6 pm CST:

You could log into Peacock on your Roku at 8 pm (or when you’re free) and check if the game appears under “Live” or “On-Demand / Replay”.

If Peacock has already posted the full game replay (or the feed allows you to rewind to the start of the broadcast) then you’ll be able to watch from the beginning.

If Peacock has not yet made the replay available or if the live stream doesn’t allow “start from beginning”, you may not be able to watch the full game from the start at 8 pm.

    ✅ My recommendation

    1. Make sure your Roku device has the Peacock app installed and updated.

    2. At around 8 pm, open Peacock and search for the game (under Sports → Big Ten Basketball or similar).

    3. If you see “Replay” or a full-game VOD for that matchup, you’re good to go.

    4. If you don’t see it, you may need to wait until it’s posted (maybe later than 8) or start watching from wherever the live broadcast is (if still live).
