Audio video sync issue with tennis channel

OK....I am not a techy person. LIke everyone else the ROKU green tennis icon didn't work anymore, either on my Roku tv or on my desktop computer. I was able to remove the green tennis app icon and replace it with the black tennis app icon on my ROKU TV and computer. Thought I was doing ok but the audio and video are out of sync..this only occurs on the tennis channel. I have unplugged and disconnected everything and restarted both tv and internet.  I do not subscribe to tennis channel plus but have accessibility through my Optimum cable tv provider for the free live tennis channel matches. I even had the cable company come and check all the wiring and connections, just in case it was that. no luck...You cannot remove the tennis channel and reinstall...when you push the * on the remote...you are not given that option. The audio video sync is just fine when I access TC on my laptop....HELP!   At my wit's end in NJ

  • Sound syncing is an issue on the Apple TV as well with the new Tennis Channel app. It was not on the old app, the green one. This is clearly an issue on their end and the app needs to be updated.

  • I have the same problem, also using Roku. If I go to Roku home and go back to tennis channel app I can get it in sync again for a bit, but as soon as it goes to a commercial, or after a period of time, goes back out of sync. Frustrating! I just sent a message to Tennis Channel via the Help Section on their website, maybe you can too

      Same problem here in Farmington, Maine. But when I hit the (counter clockwise circle) rewind button, it syncs up again. It appears this solves the problem. We'll see if it continues to.

      Yes! the same exact scenario here....watching the French Open has not been enjoyable...I turn off the audio

        Hi.  I have the same issue. If ROKU can't fix the problem, recommend switching from ROKU to Amazon Firestick. The Firestick doesn't have the audio/video sync problem with the Tennis Channel.

      Exact same problem in the Berkshires up in Massachusetts.  Just got a new LG TV and Roku Pro Soundbar....was all excited because the Roku allowed me to install the Tennis Channel App (which LG does not).  thought I was home free, and then the synching got messed up.  This is a problem and will try to find a help link for Tennis Channel to complain.  Crazy.

        See live link below in and send a message to TC as described to report problem. Hope we get a response soon. watching the French Open hasn't been enjoyable with this the delayed feed!

    Happens to us as well. We have been successful in deleting the app and reinstalling, only to have it go back and not syncing.

      Audio delays started within an hour of the update to the app on Roku - and happen within 15-20 minutes over and over again since. It’s making it unwatchable.

      Who releases a major software version update right before the French Open?!  Terrible testing/quality control on this release

  • Still an issue with my Roku StreamBar Pro. Reported to both TC and Roku. Nobody cares or does anything. TC says get an Amazon FireStick! Why has this not been fixed!!!!!!!

      Hi, KC.  Good to know the Streambar Pro seems to be problematic, too.  Here's my deep-dive with this.  Not sure why it's not showing in the thread:

       

      OK, here's the deal according to TC's tech folks.  The best I could get them to commit to was a "[based on the currently available updates, these models work best]" as far as Roku players go.  They are:

      -Roku Express (latest models)

      -Roku Ultra

      -Roku Premiere+

      Premiere+ are not currently available on roku.com, but the Express and Ultra are.  I asked about the currently available Stick and Streambar models, but they did not specifically recommend them.  I think it's worth considering that app and platform development teams are constantly addressing compatibility issues and pushing updates.  However, they have to pick their battles.  TC subscribers who own older/certain Roku players (I own 6) may not draw a lot of water, so to speak.

      They did reiterate what Customer Service told me over-the-phone which was that Fire TV Stick and Apple TV devices "generally" are not experiencing this audio sync issue on live broadcasts.  Of course, one of them could always push an update that results in more or less devices working properly.  Getting everything to work properly across all these platforms is always an ongoing process.

      For my part, I'm impressed with Tennis Channel's phone and online support and will probably return as subscriber once I pick up a couple of new Roku's.
