You didnt mention your Roku model # or firmware version (Settings/System/About).
However, make sure you have Sound/Volume Modes disabled (these are unfortunately enabled by default in most RokuOS firmware versions, and are otherwise "hidden"):
To disable Sound/Volume Modes:
4640/4800/4802/4850/Roku TVs:
1) During playback: press (remote) Options (*)/Sound settings/Customize sound modes/Volume Leveling & Dialogue Enhancement = Off
All other models:
1) During playback: press (remote) Options (*)/Volume mode = Off
