Apps switching with no remote inputs

Our LG TV just randomly switches apps with no input from the Roku remote.  Did a factory reset on the stick and same issue.  Figured the Roku stick was bad, so purchased a new stick/remote and the same issues immediately.  Any words of wisdom?

    Credline What Roku device do you have?  When you say the LG TV switches apps does to Roku device go to a different app or is this a smart LG TV that is going to a different app?
