Apple TV app and AirPlay not working

For the past few months I have been unable to get the Apple TV app to run on any of my Roku devices.  That includes a Roku Ultra, a streaming stick+, and a TCL Roku TV.  They all produce the error me...

    Thank you for reaching out to us about your concern with the Apple TV app. I also appreciate you taking the time to perform some troubleshooting steps on your end. Were you able to access the app before?

    We recommend that you try updating the Apple TV app. 

    1. Highlight the app you wish to update.
    2. Once the app is highlighted, press the star (*) button on your Roku remote.
    3. Select "Check for updates." 

    If the issue continues, please contact the Apple TV App provider for further assistance.
