I have something similar on my 4670RW Roku Ultra Roku. In the past few weeks, while mostly watching YouTube, the video is paused for some legit reason by me. With the remote. At random times when I go to unpause, the voices/audio sound accelerated like a chipmunk.
At first, I would just back out and reboot the Roku from the main menu, then go back into YouTube and it would be fine for a while. Then it would happen again. And I have to get out reboot etc etc. This is very frustrating. So I was digging on this today and found another thread in the community talking about this and they mentioned going into Settings -->Audio --> Menu Volume, and setting this to off. Mine was set to medium. All this does is prevent the navigation, clicks and button presses from making noise in the menus. This immediately help me. I didn't have to reboot this time, I just set this to off and went back to YouTube and it immediately set the volume and speed back to normal. This also got me to thinking though, recently my LG C1 connected to my LG SP9YA Atmos sound bar had been receiving a couple of updates recently. I think it had changed some of the audio settings I had set directly on the TV when communicating through the arc channel HDMI port to the sound bar. I went in and defaulted some of the settings on the TV audio section. We'll see if this lasts or if it's just going to happen again after a couple of days.
I to a Roku update because the Roku had updated several weeks before this started, but the TV had updated after the Roku last updated. So I'm more suspicious of the changes on the TV at this point.
Of course, it's also possible that the Roku is having trouble going back and forth between stereo, Dolby DTS, etc. You can't count that out. But nobody's exactly sure what's going on with this to know the true root cause at this time. Good luck. I hope some of this helps you.
