Problem self corrected after four day.
I am having the same problem but only with BritBox. Acorn is working as intended. Cannot play anything, it's just stuck...

Thanks for letting us know about the behavior you are seeing with the BritBox channel.We recommend performing the steps below to resolve the issue:
1. Remove the BritBox channel by highlighting it and pressing the Star (*) button.
2. Restart the Roku device from Settings > System > System Restart.
3. Install the BritBox channel again. Select Channel Store > Search for the app and Click Add channel.Let us know how it works.

Did not work. Still just returns to home screen.

Can you please provide us with more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? When did you notice the issue had occurred? Does the issue only occur on that specific channel or all channels on your Roku device? In addition, what troubleshooting steps have you already taken to try to resolve the issue?
