Roku device audio sync issues
I have multiple Roku device; TVs, "Ultimate" STB streamers, sticks - you name it; going back to composite A/V output. I now have and use ONLY High Def / 4K devices and TVs from Roku now. Originally, I had "purple screen - HDCP erros" between the Roku Ultra and an expensive LG OLED TV that required disconnecting HDMI cables, swapping them, the ports I used, and powering off equipment - until I gave up and called for a replacement "Ultra" STB. Roku relectantly replaced it - only to have the same problems (which I suspect they know about). I eventualy gave up on the Ultra insisting that I get my exercise every night doing this nonsense and decided that a 4K Streaming Stick would eliminate the need for multiple HDMI cables that Roku Support suggested I change out. The stick solved the HDCP issues; however the Audio Sync issues became the concern - and has been / still is present on EACH and EVERY Roku streamer / device / TV. Roku Support plays the same response to everyone: "What is the model, serial number, blah, blah, blah.." I haven't seen anyone say their problem has been fixed - instead, they just stop posting and complaining because they've come to realize that Roku doesnt have a permanent, workable fix! News flash - these same problems exist for Chromcast and Fire TV too. The "button push combination" on the remote is the best you can hope for as far as a fix is concerned; just be prepared to do it every night at least once every night. The procedure is below: Press the Home button on your Roku remote. Wait a few seconds, then press the following buttons in the exact order shown below, without pausing between buttons. 1 Press the Home button 5 times 2 Press the Up button 1 time 3 Press the Rewind button 2 times 4 Press the Fast Forward button 2 times Your Roku will be unresponsive and reboot. Audio sync should be better / fixed. Roku Support strings evetyone along by suggesting there is a fix - but they need 'more information" (a.k.a. time) to have their engineers look at YOUR problem (it is unique - no one else is having your problem!). They do this until the warranty return window for the streamer / device / TV has closed. Roku has been doing this for YEARS and it has likely become part of its mission statement. Its frustrating but it is what it is.Solved41KViews8likes45CommentsAuto Brightness Not Working when Powering On
Hello. Lately (possibly since the last software update on 1/13), My TV (Roku Pro Series 65") goes to full brightness when powered on. Auto Brightness doesn't engage. The only fix that works for me is to perform a System Restart. Once I do the restart, auto brightness kicks in and everything is normal. By default, I always keep Auto Brightness on. This has only been an issue recently. I've had the TV since December 2024. This issue is occuring every time I power the TV off, then on again. Current software version is 14.1.4, Build 7709.Solved1.3KViews1like41CommentsNo Bluetooth headphone option for TCL Roku TV.
I have the same problem with my Roku TV. There’s an icon showing a group of audio outputs including headphones, but in the menu there is no headphone option, even though there IS a wireless speaker option, which means to me that it is bluetooth capable.Solved27KViews2likes10CommentsRoku Version 13.1.4 forced Action Smoothing garbage
This worthless Roku Tv has forced a downgrade post purchase with motion or action smoothing that cant be turned off. It will be the last Roku Tv I ever buy or Roku device I ever own and the negative publicity I will be giving will be constantly all day every day until I die. How do you turn this garbage off if there is no advanced picture settings or any picture settings besides brightness. What a bunch of junk and who the $#@* would force this on people. Its like they want to go out of business.598Views0likes1CommentTCL R625 VRR not working correctly on Nvidia card
I have my TCL R625 55" TV hooked up via HDMI to an Nvidia 3070 card on my PC. I can enable "Gsync" on the Nvidia control panel, and the TV reports "VRR" when I hit the center menu button that brings up the bottom info bar. The issue is that whenever the frame rate on any application or game drops and stays below 60hz, the TV will drop to the new frame rate/hz for less than a second, then bounce between 60hz and the new frame rate every half to full second. So for instance if I am playing a game that is hitting a steady 53fps, the info panel on the TV will show 60hz, then it will constantly jump to 53hz, then back to 60hz, then back to 53hz every second/half second. The game itself is constantly at 53fps when this is happening. This results in the game's frame rate being very choppy on the TV. When I use the same HDMI port on the TV with my Playstation 5 in VRR mode, the TV again reports VRR correctly on the info bar. However, when the game's frame rate drops below 60fps, the TV info bar reports the the new frame rate with no jumping or fluctuation. If a game drops to 53fps, the TV reports a steady 53hz. This also results in the game's frame timing being very smooth unlike the same situation on PC.557Views0likes0CommentsThe Roku Channel won't pass 99% loading.
Every time I go into the Roku Channel, and want to look through some of the movies offered, I'll play the trailer for one, no problem. Sometimes another one, maybe two, will play, but usually it only takes playing one, before no other trailers will load! Not only that, but even when I try to play the movie, nothing happens! Well, nothing but that 99% within the arrow going in circles! That's all, no trailer, no movie, just the 99% & endlessly circling arrow! I usually have to do a system restart, and sometimes will also reset my wifi connection, and then it will work. But even when I do that, I still will only be able to play one trailer, and then no others will work! This is really getting old, and is incredibly frustrating, what the heck is going on, why can't features just work as they're supposed to? Plus, sometimes, even the Roku live channels won't work, I click on a channel, and the description shows at the bottom, but no picture, no sound, nothing at all! This is really maddening... how can this be so dysfunctional?Solved1.5KViews0likes4Comments
