getting conflicting info on wifi6 being able to support all ROKU devices, WHat is the truth- can I buy a wifi6 and expect my roku TV to still work, my streaming sticks and my premier units ...

To my knowledge the only Roku that supports WiFi6 is the new Ultra 4850. That said, any WiFi 6 router you buy will also support the older protocols, so all existing devices will still connect. 

WiFi6 is officially known as 802.11ax, but when you look at the routers available you will also see support for .11ac, .11n, and likely even .11g, .11b and .11a. So any existing WiFi device will connect to them, as long as those older protocols are not disabled in the router. I'm quite certain that they will at minimum have g/n/ac enabled from the factory.

My Roku 4850R says it supports WI-FI 6, but it cannot find the SSID for my WI-FI 6 Network...I'm on a Netgear RAXE300 that is broadcasting all three types...2.4 GHz; 5 GHz and 6 GHz.  My new Macs and new iphone 16 see and connect fine to the 6 GHz network.  The New Roku 4850R can see the 2.4 and 5 GHz network, only.  I've tried the "Private Network" w/in the Roku Settings, but it still cannot find the WI-FI 6 SSID network.  The Roku says there are not and software updates...today is Jan 12th, 2025.  Will wait a few days to see if there are any updates and then I'm going to return the device.

@Ryanfoster00 "WiFi 6" does not require the 6GHz band. The WiFi6 protocol (802.11ax) works on 5GHz as well. Roku cannot add support for a different radio band via a software update. The radio in the Roku has to have the 6GHz band, and at this time no Roku has a 6GHz radio.
