Wi-Fi & connectivity

I just bought the 4k streaming stick.  The power cord wasn't long enough.  I accidentally broke the USB port.  I got another power adapter to try to set up the stick.  I also tried to order another power cord with the wifi extender but it is not in stock.  The ruku turns on but I am unable to sync the remote.  I have tried every suggestion provided.  I ordered the hdmi extender too, waiting for it to come in.  My question is, does this stick have to use the power cord with wifi extender?  I am note sure if I will be able to find one.  Thanks!

Yes, it will only work with the USB cable with the embedded Wi-Fi hardware.  It's pretty much useless without it.  The remote communicates with the Wi-Fi hardware in the cable, so it will do nothing without it.
