Time for a new one

I have a Roku Express (2017, I think) that has simply stopped connecting to wifi.. I have followed every troubleshooting bit of advice and followed directions to the the letter, and nothing. Unplugged and re-started router, unplugged and restarted player. Did a factory reset on the player. Tried new HDMI cables, and yes The player is plugged directly into the wall socket. What makes matters more confusing is everything else that runs on Wi-Fi (phone, computer) is still running. My phone cannot detect the Roku player using the Roku app. Yes I have put in the correct password. What is left to do that I have not done?

Re: Time for a new one

The Roku app on your phone can only see the Roku when it's connected to the same WiFi network as the phone. So that won't work until you get it connected again.

One thing to try is seeing if it will connect to a different wireless network, such as a phone hotspot. If it can, see if there's a firmware update and install it if available. Then try on your home network again.

Also, the Express only works on the 2.4 GHz WiFi band. If your router is controlled by a cable company, it has been said that sometimes they change the settings and turn 2.4 GHz off for some stupid reason. So make sure the 2.4 GHz radio is on (assuming you have dual band WiFi in your router).
