I have and older 2016 model Samsung tv, spectrum wifi. I got my wifi upgraded, activated my new equipment and now my tv won’t connect to the wifi. Instead of trashing the tv, can I use something like a Roku stick? Will it still connect to the wifi even tho my tv won’t? I’m not sure why my tv won’t connect anymore, it will connect to my phones hotspot, and everything else connects to my wifi. I spent probably about 5 hours yesterday trying to fix it and otp with spectrum and Samsung, each say it’s the other fault.

You may use a Roku streaming device and connect it with your preferred network provider. Here's our official web store, Roku.com, to help you choose a Roku streaming device. If you have any questions or need assistance, let us know. We are always here for you!

Could you be more specific about the not connecting? For example a nice simple answer would be that the TV uses 2.4GHz only, but the Wi-Fi uses only 5GHz. In this case, the TV wouldn't even see your SSID.
Another amusing/weird incompatibility is that quite a few devices have odd restrictions on special characters like *&%^*()_+ in either the SSID or password. When the bug/feature is in the password, you can type a password like pork&beans all day but the router gets only porkbeans and says its wrong.
@shaw38One of the most prevalent connectivity issues is channel congestion, so before buying anything, I'd recommend you install WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar if you have an iPhone. Once installed you'll be able to view how much channel congestion there is for the one selected. And since you're likely using Spectrum's equipment the default setting for channels selection is 'auto' which is often the problem. Instead, log into the router and choose the channels manually. The lower numbered ones have greater overlap and range, in case you're unaware. Hope that helps
