Re: Roku hasn’t fixed hotel Wi-Fi issue yet

The "Hotel/Dorm"  window will not appear when I log into the hotel network.

It shows a good connection but will not streams any of my apps.

I get different versions of a  Network Error message from the apps.

I have Roku Stream stick model 3820X 4K

Software version is 12.0.0 build 4184-CU

This device has been activated to my account for over two years now.

I have Reset my roku wifi connections 7 time now.

I have unplugged and restarted my Roku 6 times now.

What am I missing in getting the "Hotel/Dorm" window to open for me?

I just now retarted my Roku device and reset the wifi.

I selected the hotel wifi connection and it show :

Status:   Connected

Connection type:   Wireless

Signal strenth:  Excellent

Along with the wirelesss channel, IP address, Gateway and Wireless MAC address.

What am I do wrong?

Is there more specific information that you need?

I am only on vacation for 4 more days so I would appreciate if I could get this fixed before I leave.

Re: Roku hasn’t fixed hotel Wi-Fi issue yet

Please check with hotel lobby. Some hotel captive portal systems don’t behave they are supposed to behave and  causing this trouble. They might have a solution for allowing connection.

Re: Roku hasn’t fixed hotel Wi-Fi issue yet

Here is an update and a fix for me and maybe every other post related to this subject.

I called the support line for the network provider here at the hotel.

They were able to add my Roku device manually.

All they needed from me was the MAC address and the IP address.

Just go to Setting - Network - About for the information.

Hope this helps for all of you trying to find a solution to this while traveling.
