Neither of my rokus are working all of the sudden

I have been using two different roku's for a long time now neither one of them will work it says they won't connect to internet although it says my connection is excellent. I've tried to do the reset and also have done the whole unplugging it nothing works it still says connection excellent but it says not connected and when I try to run a setup it won't connect to my internet nothing with my internet has changed or location of anything try the other one that we have and it's still won't work. There's no place to call about this so I don't know what else to do but I'm currently missing streaming services I have through Roku which is extremely frustrating

Re: Neither of my rokus are working all of the sudden

Try restarting all of your network equipment - gateway/modem/router.  Just unplug everything for a few seconds and plug them back in.  Once your network equipment restarts then restart your Roku devices.

Although you say nothing's changed, if you get your router from your ISP they have control over it and you never know what they've done to it.

Re: Neither of my rokus are working all of the sudden

@btimms444-

Your symptoms sound a lot like this issue:

Your problem may have been caused by an update to your router which affects some Roku models. The update changes the router's wifi connection parameters for the 2.4 GHz band from b/g/n to g/n. This has been reported with equipment from Comcast/Xfinity, Cox, and more recently AT&T, but there may be others.

Affected users report the Roku identifies the local network as available and rates the connection quality, but will not then connect.

The fix is to switch the router 2.4 GHz configuration protocols from the g/n wifi set by the update back to b/g/n. If you don't have access to your router's configuration controls or just don't know how to do this you may have to have your internet provider do it for you.

Re: Neither of my rokus are working all of the sudden

Yes after thorough searching and then realizing one of my security cameras for outside wasn't working that relies on Wi-Fi and putting two and two together I contacted my internet provider. They sent something to my router which reset everything I guess because it was like having a brand new Roku having to log in and go through all the prompts it gives you when you first start. All fixed. Thank you for your response.
