Need help wtih my roku Streambar Issues

Recently hooked up the Roku stream bear. Everything was working fine but last night sound was being played by both the TV and the sound bar. Change the settings in the TV from TV speaker to HDMI receiver. That's solved the issue. Same issue today but when I go to change the speaker on my TV the sound bar is not being recognized. When I play from the Roku it is playing sound from both the TV and the stream bar. Awful echo sound. Any suggestions?
