Low sensitivity of motion sensor

Jump to solution

First there is no location for sensors other than cameras and doorbells.

I have the basic kit and the motion sensor does not react until movement is very close - 4 feet. The change from clear to motion is quite slow. It would not catch a quick visitor in the hallway.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Re: Low sensitivity of motion sensor

Hi @JimJ53,

Thanks for posting on the Roku Community!

We understand that your basic kit and motion sensor are giving you trouble because they don't respond until a movement is really close by. We are glad to assist. Please try to reset your motion sensor. To reset an entry sensor and erase its settings, press and hold the reset button on the sensor for about three seconds until the red light flashes. If you’d like to reset it remotely, simply remove it from the app. Open the Roku Smart Home mobile app, select the sensor you want to reset, go to the settings, and tap "Delete device." You can set it up again as you would normally.

Let us know how it goes.

All the best,

John
