Unable to remove shows from My Feed

I am aware of the standard procedure for removing shows from My Feed - i.e., searching for the show and then unfollowing it.

But I am unable to remove Hogan's Heroes and Gomer Pyle from My Feed, for example.  When searching those shows, it does not give a "follow" or "unfollow" option.  And every day, I get new notices from My Feed that new episodes have posted, when in reality there are no episodes at all.

My question:  how do I delete shows from My Feed, which searching for that show does not give me the option to unfollow it?  Thanks.
  • Hi tzedekh,

We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. I understand that you are unable to unfollow content from the My Feed feature.

If you no longer wish to receive updates for a movie, TV show, actor, or director, you can unfollow the item from Roku Search. Use the instructions above to find the title, actor, or director and select Unfollow this.

There is another way to unfollow an item that is unique to movies. Simply find the movie listed in the My Feed list, open the details screen, and select Unfollow this.

After you unfollow a movie, TV show, actor, or director, all updates within My Feed will be removed and you will no longer receive new updates for that item.

For full information on this, you can take a look at this link: How do I follow my favorite shows using My Feed? | Official Roku Support

Let us know how it goes!

    Kind regards,
    Mary

I am having the same issue for two television series:  Americans and Lost in Space.  I can find no way to un-follow or remove these from My Feed.  I have looked at every menu and restarted the device.

Unable to add or remove. No options listed in either case

I am having this same problem. I have removed the channels and restarted my device multiple times. I’ve only had this Roku for less than 6 months and now it’s not working? Very frustrating RokuDanny-R

  • Amazing that people have been complaining about problems with “My Feed” for more than a year amd it is still annoying. Mine is that you have to go and “Search” for the show you want to remove. There is a “follow on Roku” option on every TV show or movie in their My Feed boxes for “Movies”, “TV Shows” and “Movies Coming Soon”. If I have already selected a show from one of these boxes, there is also an “Unfollow” option. For every other show I have selected in the past, that is not in one of these boxes, there is no “Unfollow” option.  Pretty sad computer function planning.

Agree, sad computer programming, should be an easy fix, nothing is open source, so we all suffer.

Suspect there is no financial benefit to Roku fixing this problem, therefore, the problem is irrelevant.  Because who cares about consumer satisfaction when there are profit margins to be had!

Love more, spend less, take care of each other always.

Tried the suggestions here to no avail. But the suggestion to search for the movie or tv show AFTER I went into settings, checked for updates for good measure AND picked restart Roku, the option to unfollow appeared when using search. Still no brainer to allow to unfollow in My Feed without having to do tricks to do it.

September 2020 and I have the same issue. I have Ellen’s Game of Games in My Feed, but when I perform a search for the show, I get no search results.

Thus, I can’t unfollow the show.

Thanks for your patience here. I'd like to have you try restarting your device, then seeing if you are still experiencing this issue.

    Please keep us posted!

    Thanks,

Unfollow is not an option on some items in my feed. I tried restarting which does not work. Also restored system still no option to unfollow. How to get these out?

Simply go 'search' for TV show or movie you want removed this is where you will see the unfollow option

It took me forever to figure this out....lol 😁🤔👀

I have done this multiple times and The People v O.J. Simpson is still showing in my feed.  Its been there for a good 2 years.  I do a search and it doesn't show that I'm following so I click on follow, then unfollow and it won't go away. I have restarted as well.

  • It is easy to "unfollow."  Do a SEARCH for the program title, go to the right a few clicks, and you should see an option at the right bottom to UNFOLLOW.

Roku could make it much easier by giving us the option to unfollow right from the feed. Click on the show... Click on Unfollow.

Should be simple but some shows do not have the unfollow option...

Same issue. Just started for me a few weeks ago. I have tried the steps provided. I have multiple Rokus and none of them allow unfollow anymore.

  • The WP Smart TV app seems promising. It approach I need to installation a WP website, use the Rovidx WP Smart TV plug-in, after which theoretically, it's going to work with out me having to discover ways to code, and so forth. I desire DP just allowed me to create classes using the actual tags from Vimeo, however I bet this is simply not feasible. Thanks!

Try searching for the actors if Roku's Search can't find the show. That's what worked for me.

I'm guessing the show's weird licensing status kept it from showing up in the search, but the lead actress's filmography page lists it, and I was able to unfollow it there.

(IMDB's a great place to look up shows and get cast lists, if you need it.)

Unfortunately that didn't work. I tried the entries for the star of "Diagnosis: Murder" and an actress guest-starring in the episode in question, and neither had a listing for the show.

That sounds like a fabulous work around! As the show doesn’t necessarily show up. Love how your mind works.

  • Hi! I hope I'm posting on the right board.

I've had a bug for a while where My Feed will tell me a new episode is available, and will list the correct season and episode in the feed (on the first screen). However, when I "click" on that new episode (either right arrow or OK button), the next screen will consistently display a random season and episode, not the one that was "just added for free with subscription" and listed in the feed.

I've got a Roku Streaming Stick 3800X. I've tried contacting Roku support via chat, but they were unhelpful and I don't have all day to spend with their slow reply speed, doing basic troubleshooting that I already did on my own when this issue started months ago.

Has anyone else had this issue? The device isn't completely unusable, but this is still a pretty big problem for one of Roku's major features to have.
