Solving playback issues

After working correctly for years, my roku premiere is suddenly not displaying the entire screen, making it impossible to read subtitles. I’ve searched for suggestions, made sure it was on auto detect, changed hdmi ports and cables, done factory reset and regular power reset. Could find no advanced picture setting on the or roku menus so I’m out of strategies. Any ideas?

Have you checked the TV?  Many TVs have a setting that simulates overscan (and often it's the default) and another setting with a label like "screen fit" or "exact".  (This is in addition to all the zoom/stretch settings that TVs also typically have.)

Yes, this tv doesn’t have any of those settings that I could find. My Samsung dies but this TLC only has picture settings like sports, movie, etc. went through the entire menu with it but nothing.
