Spectrum app not working RLP - 999

I'm currently having issues with the spectrum app. I watched it this morning and everything was fine. Now, the guide how's up, I can click on what I want but then I get error RLP-999 code. I have unplugged/plugged Roku and then checked for any updates in settings. Any other suggestions?

I restarted router and restarted main Spectrum box. Also removed channel and added it again. This resolved issue.

  • When removing the channel, please make sure that you are restarting your Roku device before adding the channel back again.

^ this worked for me. Thank you!

  • Omg, Spectrum was working on Roku stick too. You and I keep having this issue. I went on this morning and now have error RLP-999. I don't have issues with Netflix, Hulu. Very odd it's always Spectrum.

In case you missed it, Roku and Spectrum had contract issues.

Spectrum was my provider too. Called Spectrum to find this out.

My understanding is that the 2 companies have kissed and made up. Try searching for the Spectrum app and reinstall

Wyspy22  I have uninstalled Spectrum, updated Roku, reinstalled Spectrum and restarted Roku. I still get error message. It appears Spectrum wants to start. I see Spectrum checking subscription, channels start to appear, then lovely error message. Ugh. Thanks.

    Hello Shelley912

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

Channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel developer themselves. Since you're getting an error code within the Spectrum channel, it'll be best to reach out to their customer support team to get help. They are the best ones to provide the appropriate resolution or troubleshooting steps related to the error code you received.

    We appreciate your understanding.

    All the best,
    Kariza

  • @Shelley912   Unfortunately, Spectrum support doesn't deal with this issue. It's goes back to Roku whenever I have had issues. I restarted, updated etc without any help in working.

Spectrum was working from Roku stick just days ago. Today, I can't access because of the error code. My other apps work. 😩 Why Spectrum?

If you're experiencing issues with the Spectrum app on your Roku device and encountering the RLP-999 error code, here are a few additional suggestions to try and resolve the problem:

    1. Clear cache and data: Go to the Roku home screen and navigate to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Clear cache. This will clear the cache for the Spectrum app. Additionally, you can try clearing the data for the Spectrum app by going to Settings > Apps > Spectrum > Clear data. Restart your Roku device and launch the Spectrum app again to see if the issue is resolved.

    2. Reinstall the Spectrum app: Remove the Spectrum app from your Roku device by going to the Roku home screen, navigating to the Spectrum app, pressing the asterisk (*) button on your remote, and selecting "Remove channel." After that, restart your Roku device by going to Settings > System > System restart. Once the device restarts, add the Spectrum app again from the Roku Channel Store. Launch the app and check if the issue persists.

    3. Check for app updates: From the Roku home screen, navigate to the Spectrum app, highlight it, press the asterisk (*) button on your remote, and select "Check for updates." If there are any available updates, install them and restart your Roku device. Then, try launching the Spectrum app again.

    4. Contact Spectrum support: If the issue continues after trying the above steps, it's recommended to reach out to Spectrum support for further assistance. They will have specific knowledge about their app and can provide more targeted troubleshooting steps or investigate any potential server-side issues that may be causing the RLP-999 error code.

By following these suggestions, you should be able to troubleshoot the issue with the Spectrum app on your Roku device and resolve the RLP-999 error code.

  • You'll need to log out of the Spectrum app and then log back in. You may also want/need to start a chat (online or by phone) with Spectrum customer service and ask them to "send a signal" to your TV. I did both at the same time, so I'm not sure which did the trick (maybe both!), but it worked.

This is how to log out of the app on your Roku player:

    - Once you get the error code, select OK.

    - The Spectrum app will open (and you'll see the guide along the right side), but no video content will be streaming through.

    - Click (once) the left arrow in the top left corner of your Roku remote "<--" to see the "Live TV - Guide - My Library - On Demand" Spectrum screen.

    - Click on the settings gear icon on the bottom left corner to see several options, including how to log out. Then log back in. (No need to exit the app or restart the Roku player again.)

  • I experienced it recently on one of our many Roku devices which was on our back enclosed porch. After various attempts to resolve it, I decided to see if getting a stronger wi-fi signal would do it. Our router is located in the lower-level of our home and I use inexpensive extenders in our upper level to expand the wi-fi. So, I took one of our extenders and relocated it within our enclosed porch which boosted the wi-fi signal roku displayed from fair to excellent and that resolved our issue.
