It finally worked after trying everything EXCEPT for updating from the Roku system instead of the YouTube app.  Updating just the YouTube app won't work, it has to be updating the Roku app that finally did it for me.

I was able to get to YouTube TV by going to YouTube app and selecting YouTube TV at the bottom of the left sided menu options. Still not able to launch the YouTube TV app though.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for keeping us posted, and welcome to the Roku Community!

It seems like you're having an issue with the YouTube TV channel, and we're here to help.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Update the software: Press the Home button on your Roku remote, select Settings > System > Software/System Update, and choose Check Now.
  • Remove the channel: Highlight the YouTube TV tile on your home screen, press Star to open the Options menu, select Remove Channel, and confirm.
  • Restart your Roku: Press Home > Settings > System > Power > Restart (If you don’t see a Power submenu, skip this step).
  • Re-install the channel: Go to Search, type “YouTube TV,” highlight the channel, and select Add Channel.

Please go ahead and follow the troubleshooting steps. If the issue continues, feel free to start a new thread.

We're closing this one now and marking it as solved. Thanks to everyone who reported it and for your patience!

Thanks,
The Roku Community Team
