So I've had Roku since 2010 and that thing still works SOLID. Even my second one but my "Premiere" and sometimes my "Express" are turning into garbage. My Premiere started with the overheating left and right an I have it mounted at the bottom of my TV (trying to keep it clean) with a mount and air hits it. I have to put a fan on it, NOW it's skipping on playing. No more support for it so are these target practice and switch brands? Since hey, no support anymore for them. I think the 4k on the Premiere (yes I know it has to broadcast as) is a let down compared to my PS4.
Thoughts anyone? Thanks!
The Premiere I have (3920, I think) is by far the worst Roku I've ever owned and I have a slew of them. My belief is that the thing just cooks itself (it gets pretty hot) and just destroys the electronics, starting with Wi-Fi reception. While I have a couple of the same-sized Expresses that seem to be ok, I pretty much only use them for streaming music. The Premiere is practically useless and it was barely used. I tend to stick with the larger boxes which pretty much just leaves the Ultra at this point.
OK THANK YOU!!! I'm an electronic tech so obviously, heat being the number one killer of electronics (and well most everything lol). I thought I was going nuts so I agree, thank you, I really appreciate it.
