My Roku Premier Model 3920X recently started sending the on-screen alert message that it was overheating.  It is not in a cabinet, is well-ventilated and overheats within minutes of turning on the TV.  The Roku help page was not helpful because it basically says to stop using it.  Is there no other solution?

My device is not inside a cabinet or anywhere near heat so the solution provided by Roku does not help at all

The advice given on the Roku answer pages (via the link shown below) was very helpful, thank you. Bruce.

      I don't have a Roku player, it's a Roku TV.

  • I have the same problem. I got an e mail from someone who said they were with Roku and wanted device type and serial number….I provided three times over three weeks. Never heard a word back! I think it may be Roku just trying to act like they care on these forum type communities. Acting… no action!

      Thanks for the post.

It doesn't look like you've provided the device serial number/device ID on your Roku device as we had previously requested.
