HI,
My TV has HDMI cable with fibre optic out connected to my Yamaha cinema AVR.
I checked with
https://support.roku.com/en-ca/article/208754498
and I still can only hear stereo sound. When I setup my AVR to DTS - no sound comes out from my Yamaha AVR when setup with DTS . Sound comes out only when on programmed logic (PCM) which is not DTS at all.

Solved !

I found out that the output of my fiber optic is only

PCM Dolby Digital, Fibre optique

So that's why it only plays under PCM and not under DTS
