How to fix Roku zoomed in and cutting screen off?

Jump to solution

Suddenly, while using the remove of my Roku Premiere... everything is zoomed in. It cuts off on all sides.

It isn't the TV, as I can watch air channels AND Netflix is fine when I access it through my Smart TV. I unplugged it, but that did not help. Yes, I did plug it back in. I tried changing themes. as some other threads suggested. nope.

My roku has suddenly become a paperweight. Any thoughts?

First thing I'd try would be a restart of the Roku.   Settings > System > System restart

If that doesn't get it, try Settings > Display type, and set it to your set's actual resolution instead of "Auto detect".

Let us know how you make out.

@KLV

Thanks for the post.

For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

Thanks,
Danny

I had to manually select the image size. You had the solution.

I don’t have a display type option on my TCL tv. What other fixes do you have?

I’ve tried both of these and they are not working

Evidently, people suggesting fixes have never experienced this issue.

When watching cable hit the star on the Roku remote. Then go to picture size and choice auto not zoom. We just fixed it for my mother in law

I have a similar issue, except this issue occurred on the latest Firmware update of the ROKU device.    Nothing I am doing is fixing the issue, including all mentioned and a few more.   Can I go back to an older firmware on the ROKU device that does not have this bug?

Unfortunately, picture size was not an option.   Only Mode and Tracking.  Tried with YouTubeTV and Netflix. Thanks.

@AlabamaPlateGuy

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide more specific information about the issue you are experiencing?

-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
-screenshot of the issue

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny
