How do I get past the "new features" screen?

I started my Roku 3 to find it has updated and is promoting "new features". How do I move past this and go back to the home screen? 

Pressing the remote buttons, including Home, does nothing but make the " thunk" sound of a button press.

 

It does go into screen saver but when I press a button it just thunks and goes back to new features.

 

It looks like there are videos to play but nothing plays and nothing changes.

 

How do I fix this? Can I roll back to a working version?

Unplug the power for several seconds and plug it back in.  It seems to work for some, but not others.  Try every button on the remote to see if anything helps.  Try the Roku app on your phone/tablet as a remote.

Did not work for me. I've been stuck on new features screen for days now. Would like to have my Roku home screen back.

This worked but it shouldn't have. WHY DON'T THEY REPLACE THAT SCREEN WITH ONE THAT SAYS TO POWER CYCLE?

 

When you come home from a long day of travel and work, that last thing you want to do is futz around with some black box just to watch TV.

 

Maybe give people a choice when to update.

I unplugged my Roku device a second time, for a few minutes, and it cleared this time.
