Just now I can no longer select any of my channels from the Home page. The side menu on the left works, but when I toggle to the right, it skips over all the channels and selects the Roku channel ad. I have unplugged and plugged back in, done a system restart, and updated the system software. I see many threads with this same problem but I do not see a solution.

Is your right arrow button sticking? Try using the mobile app as a remote to see if you still have the problem.

Same problem here on 2 different Roku Players and it just skips right over where you select the channels on the Home Screen.

I am having the same problem too, it skips right over the channels and it is having the same problem on 2 different Roku Players in my house. I am using a “Roku 1”, one of the players is brand new, I had put back as a back up and both are now doing the same thing now.

Could you try using the Roku app on a phone or tablet and see if you can control it? That might point to a problem with the remote.
We really need to know your Roku model number and your configuration.

I'm having the same problem on two different Roku Devices. I've tried all of the suggestions-rebooting the whole system, pairing the remotes and checking for system updates. I downloaded the mobile app on my phone and can use the remote on there, but would like actual functioning remotes. Any other suggestions?

I have a multiple roku ultra LT devices and all are on same software version. The one I use the most just started not letting me select an app. The remote will let you select any menu item, just not apps. I have restarted, disconnected everything and have identified the problem. If I reboot with No Ethernet cable and no WiFi connected it will let me select apps. If I connect either WiFi or Ethernet it stops letting me select app. This only happens on this unit. I am on software version 14.0. I have also tried factory reset and still works as stated above.

The same started happening in Wisconsin with all our ROKU ultra devices. Can select menu items and ROKU ads, but none of the installed apps. This includes Ultra 4670R and Ultra 4800R units. Has ROKU been hacked?

I just had this happen to me. I don't think it's a coincidence that it started right after something about "Food" was added to the Home Screen menu. Thankfully, hiding it from Settings->Home Screen restored normal operation. So... if anything was recently added to your menu, try hiding it (or hide everything you can).
