Disney Plus skipping through episodes

While my son was watching Ravens Home on disney plus, as soon as he hit season 4 episode 1, the episode will play for about 3.5 minutes and then try to skip to the next episode. I spent over 2 hours online with tech support from disney plus, and did everything they could think of including a full factory reset of the roku, creating a new account on disney plus, and nothing worked. Is anyone else having this issue? It happened to us on The Mystery of Sulfur Springs season 2 as well...

    This is still an issue, only now it is with "Secrets of Sulphur Springs. I watched episode 9 but within minutes of watching episode 10, it minimizes and gets ready to play episode 11. I turned off autoplay, but it made no difference. Has been going on since Feb 12.

      Yep did it to us on that show as well. Still doing it, they haven't fixed anything :(

  • The problem with skipping episodes still exists. Family Guy season 19 episodes from 6.

      Does the issue only occur on Disney Plus or across other channels installed on your Roku device?

      Have you tried removing the affected channel Disney Plus and then re-install again? If not, we suggest starting there. In some cases, removing the affected channel and then re-installing it may help. Restart your device before re-adding the channel back in to ensure the process is successful. We recommend doing this through the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power (If there is no Power submenu, proceed to the next step.) > System restart.

        • What were you doing when the issue occurred?
        • Are you receiving any error messages or codes?
        • Does the issue only occur on a specific channel or all channels on your Roku device?
        • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps already?

  • Yes I was just looking for different solutions I'm glad I'm not the only one it's crazy this comment is from Jan 2022 and the situation is not resolved.

  • It happen to me all the time I kinda figured it out my daughters watch it all the time and now it’s skipping episodes they were so confused when it played a full episode because when they skipped the whole season so your not thee only one this problem

  • It has happened to me as well with a different show. Got through 3 seasons fine. First episode in the 4th season I can get about 25 min in and it skips to the next one, same with episode 2.

      Can you please provide us the following information:
      -Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
      -does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
      -tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
      -steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing 
      With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

  • I was able to solve this issue by pushing the right arrow button on the remote until a white square appears around the episode that's still playing in the corner. Push OK and it will return to that episode. I had to do it again after a few seconds when it tried skipping again, but it's working now!

  • I used my iPad and the Disney+ app and it worked great! It seems to only happen on my Roku TV.

  • My sister and i binged season 4 yesterday and it did it every time. started season 5 and it hasn't done it with that season.

        It only occurs on specific devices on current episodes. 

        It works great on my ipad, but not on the roku tv.

      For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

        I am having the same Disney Plus skipping issue. When watching Grownish Season 3 Episode 11, the video minimizes about 3-4 minutes into the show and skips to episode 12. It does this with a few other shows also.

  • has it ever fixed since then? mine does the same and nothing changes!

      Nope the issue still happens. My son and I had to watch it through the app on my phone to get the episodes to play fully through in ravens home and secret of sulfur springs. The issue remains and has not been fixed.
