Solving playback issues

Hi,

it wasn’t until this year that I started having issues with Roku streaming system. The home page freezes and won’t let you click on it. The Roku app won’t even appear on the Home Screen so I have to search for it in search. And when I watch an episode on Roku app; at the end, it defaults back to Home Screen instead of playing continuously. I have followed all of the suggestions on posts; restart, reboot, reinstall, switch WIFi, unplug and the list goes on to no avail in fact the Roku stick runs worse with each troubleshooting suggestion I try. It’s also keep loading at random times during an episode even though my WIFi connection is excellent. What gives Roku? I have already told three other people to stay away from Roku as they are upgrading their tvs and wanted to know about Roku Tv. This is frustrating  when all one wants to do is enjoy a show. I have been with Roku for years and this is really disappointing to have to deal with this on a daily basis!
