Have a Zvox speaker connected to my tv with an optical cable. Roku device only recognizes the tv audio system. I would think optical cable connection would work since it is hard wired and the tv is set to use the optical connection.
ROKU TV model 43R4AX TV not connecting to my zvox av355 soundbar via optical inputs. av355 doesn't have any HDMI ports, only optical and analog rca connections. I have watched numerous videos, blogs, etc, and nothing working. I've gone through all the proper settings on the tv such as check box optical, turn off tv speakers, etc, etc.
Any suggestions?

The setting must be configured on your TV's audio output, and you must make sure that all sound is going out to the speaker. You might need to contact your TV manufacturer or review your TV's manual for this setting.

Make sure your TV audio output is set to "Optical" or "Digital Audio Out", and turn off TV speakers. Roku sends audio to the TV, and the TV passes it to the Zvox via optical—Roku won't detect the Zvox directly.
