Temporary use of Roku stick

Hello! I’d like to get the roku stick as a gift for my sister so she can watch all of the Great British Baking show episodes on it. However, they already have a cable package on their tv that they don’t want to change. Is it possible to only use the roku stick temporarily, so they can watch what they want, then unplug it and go back to the cable they have? Or just keep it plugged in but continue with the other plan they have?

Re: Temporary use of Roku stick

Yes.

The Roku is just another device.  It doesn’t interfere with any other devices or services.  For example, it’s possible to have satellite TV, cable TV, over-the-air TV, Roku, FireTV, Blu-Ray, PlayStation and more all connected to a TV and switch back and forth between them as frequently as you wish.

In general, there is no need to unplug anything, unless you TV has very few inputs.  In that case, you can unplug or get a switch (or AVR) to use as many devices as you wish.

Banned but back. Because why not?
