Roku setup

Setup is in French. I cannot change to english.

I started install of Roku 4K but instructions are in French and I cannot figure out how to change to english or start again.  Remote is not working.

Are you sure there’s no setting to change it like “Language”?  What is the model number of your Roku device?

Selecting the system language is the first step when setting a new system up from scratch.  I know of no way to revisit this after the system has been set up.

Perhaps someone had returned this unit after the language was set and it was sold to you as new.

A Factory reset clears off all existing settings and return the Roku to a new-just-out-of-the-box condition, allowing you to start the setup process from the beginning.   The Roku menu path in English to accomplish this is Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset, which Google translates into French as Paramètres > Système > Paramètres système avancés > Réinitialisation d'usine.

If your setup never completed to the point where you get the Roku home screen so  you can't select menu options, or if the French menu path is not as indicated, you can also do a Factory reset by pressing and holding the reset button on the device for a MINIMUM of 30 seconds.
