How can you tell which movies and stuff are free and which you have to pay for on the roku channel?
Thank you.
Greetings from the Roku Community, @moviefan225!
We understand that you wanted to know what channels or movies are free and which you pay for on Roku. We're happy to help.
Just like your smartphone has an “app store” for installing new applications, you can access the Roku Channel Store on your Roku streaming player or Roku TV to add new “channels”. Although some channels must be purchased or require a paid subscription, many others allow you to watch movies and TV shows for free. You can search the Channel Store on your Roku device or the Roku website to find free movies and TV shows.
On the web, you can browse a list on the Roku Channel Store. When you see something that interests you, select 'Add channel' and follow the instructions.
I hope I have addressed your question appropriately, but reply to this message if the above did
not fix your issue, and we will gladly follow up.
All the best,
John

Hi Roku support,
Thank you for the nice reply.
I notice that if you click on most of the content on the roku channel it says that it is available for free. I guess live tv is probably free too.
I like my roku 4k streaming stick.

Hello, I do not have a Roku stick or anything like that, just signed in for the Roku channel and I just use my regular remote to pick something. Is there any line up or list or something that lists what is free on your phone or computer?
what does that streaming stick do for you that a regular remote cannot? I have this small stick thingy my son bought years ago, but on it it says netflix, hulu, vudu and sling and it says for an element tv, my other tv that isn't a smart tv, so i don't think that would amount to much.
Hi @vickie74,
Thanks for the inquiry, and welcome to the Roku Community!
Free channels in the Channel Store on your Roku device
Once downloaded, new channels are added to the list under Home on the main screen of your Roku device. Scroll down to see your new channel at the bottom of the list. If you prefer, you can move the channel higher in the list.
A Roku Streaming Stick can be used with a regular TV that has an HDMI port. Its can provide streaming content to any TV, including those that aren't smart TVs.
We hope this helps.
Best regards,
The Roku Community Team
