Blue light flashing, but screen says Roku device is overheating

The blue light on the the Roku is flashing, but on the screen the overheating warning keeps coming up. We have done everything it says for overheating issues. Also for blue light flashing but nothing seems to be working ?

Re: Blue light flashing, but screen says Roku device is overheating

Hi @Amber2023

Thank you for the post!

If you are experiencing both a flashing blue light on your Roku device and an overheating warning on your screen, the two issues may be related. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Move your Roku device: If your Roku device is located in an area that is too hot or enclosed, it may be overheating. Move it to a cooler, well-ventilated area to see if that helps.
  • Check the vents: Make sure the vents on your Roku device are clear of dust and debris. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any dust that may be clogging the vents.
  • Check the power adapter: Make sure the power adapter for your Roku device is functioning properly. If it is damaged or not working correctly, it may be causing the device to overheat.
  • Check for software updates: Make sure your Roku device is running the latest software updates. Go to Settings > System > System update to check for updates and install them if available.
  • Factory reset your Roku device: If the issue persists, you can try performing a factory reset on your Roku device. This will erase all settings and data on the device, so you will need to set it up again from scratch. Go to Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset and follow the prompts.

We hope it helps!

Warm regards,
Lianna
