Have you gone to your phone app settings and given the Roku app camera and microphone permissions? Then open the Roku remote app and play a YouTube video, hit the asterisk on the remote app screen and then scroll down to adjust audio delay? That seems to be the fix.

Thank you. We have gotten this corrected and it’s working just fine.

Hi Doggpound007,
Greetings from the Roku Community! We'd like to be of assistance with this issue when using headphones.
Could you tell us when you started seeing the issue occur? Have you tried any troubleshooting, and what didn't work?
Please keep us posted!
Thanks,
Rey

The issue happens when using a bt headphone or a wired headphone.
It has happened from day one of using this 4k stick.

I'm experiencing this too. I've restarted my TV multiple times, un-installed and reinstalled the app, checked my internet, everything and I'm STILL experiencing this. It just suddenly started happening too, private listening is pretty much unusable now.

Yes, I'm still having the same issue. And no help from Roku on this defect.
It absolutely sucks you have to connect headphones to this stupid roku app rather than directly to the TV!

I have four Roku TVs and every time I try to use the private listening on the Roku remote app I get this broken audio problem. It is a real problem the ROKU team needs to solve. Been happening way too long. Does not matter what external speakers or headsets I use. It is definitely a Roku app or device problem. I find it strange their technical team cannot duplicate the problem and come up with a fix unless they are just ignoring it. I know I will not purchase any Roku devises in the future until this problem has been resolved. Roku team does not even bother to respond to the problem anymore. Maybe time to take the audio problems to more public venues.

Same issue still.
Roku TV, Shockz openrun pro2.
Use private listening from my Google pixel 7pro - choppy and unusable. Never had issues until last couple months.
Use private listening from my Samsung galaxy tab s10 ultra, works fine.
Sounds almost like a bit rate issue streaming via Bluetooth to me.

After some more testing it's not Bluetooth related, it's WiFi. TV was connected to my 2.4ghz SSID and my phone connected to my 5ghz SSID, with both on 2.4ghz the private listening works 100%.
So if your router supports dual banding, especially if not merged, check this as perhaps your router isn't handling band steering very well. If your router or WiFi network merges the frequencies, try separating them and check that all devices are on the same one.
If you use any kind of WiFi extenders in your home, make sure the devices are all connected to the same access point.

You get your problem resolved?

Mines all sorted, it was a WiFi issue with me. I obviously wasn't suffering the same issue as the others who have posted here but has the same symptoms.
