HLS ISSUE

Hi -

I am currently working with another developer and we are trying to stream HLS but we noticed that with the Roku 1 models, audio drops after 30 seconds or so and it buffers about every 5 minutes or so. When we tried the same stream, same app, on a Roku 2, the stream played fine. Is there a known issue with HLS having problem streaming/rebuffering on ROku 1 models? Is there a certain way the stream needs to be set up or encoded to work on all Roku models? What codec is best to use? Sorry for all these questions. This is our first HLS app. Appreciate any input.

FYI - We are encoding in 8x10 segments, and a bitrate of 800. The audio seems to be fine, just the video is giving us a problem.

Hi, can you post some details about how you are encoding the video, and how you are streaming the video - are you doing a live stream from Flash Media Live Encoder, or is this a prerecorded stream? What from what kind of server are you delivering it to the Roku devices you are testing?What format is the audio? How fast is the connection to your server?
