Any idea number of boxes with 3.x?

Working on a new subscription channel but was told it crashed on version 3.x I only have a model XS for testing so planning to change it to version 5.0 in order to resubmit. Any idea how many approximate boxes use 3.x that will not have access to the channel by making this change? Wondering if there is some ballpark figure.

Thank you.

3.x firmware is on all roku 1 devices (through July, 2011)
Roku XDS (2100X) Sep 2010 Jul 2011

The 'educated guess' percentage today of players running 3.1 would be 15% or most likely less than that today.

Thanks much destruk.

I'll aim for the 5.0 I believe like we conversed about.

Thanks so much for the reply.

Feels to me 15% would be underestimating it.

After reviewing the thread/sources, seems at least 1.7M players of the Roku1 (MIPS) generation have been sold, which is 30% of the all time Rokus (interpolating out of thin air a number of 5.6M current total).

I don't think that full half of the old platform have been retired, I expect the number is 20-25% of all Rokus. In other words more than 1 million Roku1 are in active use.

You guys are safely in the ballpark, but that proportion (legacy players, those running 3.1) is decreasing every day.
