Re: Why does my roku express remote go thru batteries in a week?

Jump to solution

Mine does the same.  On one tv I use the headphones often on the other never.  Using headphones seems to drain my batteries.  The other not used last a long time. When the batteries give out sometimes I get away with just changing one of the 2 out and it seems to work good instead of changing 2 every time.

Yes, using the headphones will drain the batteries far more rapidly. There is an audio amplifier in the remote to drive the headphones. Any time the headphones are connected, the amp is powered up, even if it's not being used.

Make sure you unplug the headphones at all times when they aren't being used. But you can expect to use the batteries far faster when using the headphones.

@RokuDanny-R

Same issue, but I don't know how to PM you.

My remote batteries die in about 5-7 days.

I have a Roku Premeire + 4630x, version 9.4.0 build 4210-29. I rarely use it, maybe once a month but the batteries keep going dead. Is there a fix for this?

I only watch TV a couple of hours a day on average and I have had to change the batteries in my Roku remote almost every two weeks. This is getting expensive, I did not expect this when I purchased it, why does it go through them so fast?
