Voice commands not working on new remote

I just received my new Roku Voice Remote to use with my TCL 4 Series Roku TV. The only reason that I bought this remote was for the voice function but it doesn’t work, all other features work like my original remote. When I depress the microphone button the little green light on the remote illuminates and I hear a beep on the tv but nothing happens. It doesn’t matter if I’m on the Home Screen or a search bar, nothing works via voice. Can someone help please!

Let's perform a troubleshooting step to resolve the issue. Follow the instructions below:

  1. Press and hold the pairing/Back and Home buttons of the remote for 20 seconds to reset your Roku remote.
  2. Set your Roku device to pairing mode by unplugging it to the power outlet for 15 seconds.
  3. Press and hold the pairing/Back and Home buttons of the remote for 5 seconds to pair your Roku remote.
