@Tealsista BTW if it helps, this is a response i got from a ROKU moderator about the charging:
"Roku Voice Remote Pro: From empty, a full charge takes 3 hours and typically lasts 2 months. Using Headphone Mode will drain the battery more quickly. Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition): From empty, a full charge takes 5.5 hours and typically lasts 3 months."
the point is, charging the Roku remote OVERNIGHT, is much too LONG. you're overcharging the battery. and you're probably not supposed to charge it EVERY SINGLE DAY( especially if you're not watching too long EVERY DAY), IF you are doing that. don't know if you are. i realize you may be busy, but otherwise you may end up buying multiple remotes.
@hexank
Charging the remote for days is an absolute NO-NO. BECAUSE, that WILL RUIN the battery. i got a response from ROKU :
"Roku Voice Remote Pro: From empty, a full charge takes 3 hours and typically lasts 2 months. Using Headphone Mode will drain the battery more quickly. Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition): From empty, a full charge takes 5.5 hours and typically lasts 3 months."
charging for days is overcharging and otherwise ruining the battery.
After trying several different cables and charging blocks, I was about ready to toss my remote in the trash and buy a new one, but didn't want to lose the headphone jack feature in my old one. Nothing seemed to work and the green light wasn't glowing, making it seem like no charge was happening.
Your post saved the day -- I did the reset, plugged it back in, and the green light immediately came on, indicating charging. Hopefully if it has this problem again, the same trick will work.
Really wish the new USB-C remote had the headphone jack. We use that feature all the time and I'd upgrade for the backlit buttons if it did.
Thank you!
Hi, @Flipmunk
Thanks for posting here in the Roku Community.
It's great to hear that you were able to resolve the trouble you've encountered with your Roku Voice Remote Pro that won't charge. This will guide others who are also having the same issue that was raised in this thread to find a resolution.
Additionally, I appreciate your feedback on the Roku Voice Remote (2nd Edition). You can also use the Roku mobile app as a remote and utilize the Headphone mode, which has the same function as the Headphone Jack on the Roku Voice Remote Pro.

yea i love the headphone jack in mine too. the 2nd edition...Roku really needs to add that feature(headphone jacK).
also be careful not to overcharge the battery, not that i'm saying you are. but some people here say they've been charging the remote overnight, sometimes days.
"Roku Voice Remote Pro: From empty, a full charge takes 3 hours and typically lasts 2 months. Using Headphone Mode will drain the battery more quickly. Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition): From empty, a full charge takes 5.5 hours and typically lasts 3 months." this is the reply i got.
Yet again, my Roku voice remote pro is not charging properly. i've never charged my remote to even a half hour, so i haven't run down the battery. and i only have a few different connectors; currently i'm alternating between two different chargers/connectors/whatever. i may have to buy a brand new remote, but this whole situation is so annoying. thankfully, though my tv-one of them-is an android, so i can still stream all my programs. and the tv itself has a headphone jack. even still, my roku ultra was working out great when i first bought it. but i'm seriously starting to dislike these remotes. i would try the 2nd edition voice remote pro, but that doesn't have a headphone jack. and there's no way i'm using my phone, with the Roku remote app, whatever that is exactly.
once again, thanks a lot ROKU!
