We have a Roku that has to be paired everytime we turn the tv on. This just started happening about a month ago but I am wondering if there is an issue with the remote. We have also had to change the batteries several times which is extremely unusual for any remote.
Batteries need to be changed every so often. I change maybe twice a year. Maybe not that often, but it happens rarely enough that I don't keep up with it.
As for the losing of the pairing, that is indeed unusual. That can happen if the device is powered down for an extended period of time. Roku devices aren't designed to be powered down -- except the Roku 4, which was only sold from October 2015 - October 2016. Are you powering yours down? That is, disconnecting power from the device?
Oh, and what device do you have? Model number, and Roku software version, is always helpful. Settings > System > About

@Oconnor309, to add to what @DBDukes said, if yours is one that uses a USB power adapter make sure you're using the supplied power adapter and not the TV's USB port.
So uh basically my roku remote won't connect to my roku ultra
I've tried everything from support and it doesn't work
I try putting new batteries in the remote and then the pairing light stays on for 10 seconds then turns off
I don't know what else to do

I have the same problem with my new Voice Remote Pro unpairing daily from my Roku Streaming Stick+. We bought the voice Remote 2 months ago as our previous Remote stopped pairing with the Stick. It worked fine for about a month and then faced the same issues. We are forced to restart the Stick several times per day. Please advise.
I am having the same problem. It paired in November 2021 when I bought the Samsung TV and Roku 4k brand new. Then this week all of a sudden, I have to pair the remote every day, or every time the TV is turned off and on. Fresh batteries.
This happens to other 4k I bought at the same time with a year old Samsung TV.
I think it's a software upgrade issue. It also says it doesn't support 4k on the new 4k tv.
