Roku remote pro (2nd edition) not voice command not working

Recently bought the Roku voice remote pro this is the one that has the little switch on the side where you can turn the voice on or off and is also rechargeable. 

Problem is the voice feature of this remote has completely stopped working this after working for several weeks after I first bought it. I've read several solutions presented here in the community and have tried all turning off the TV, holding down the buttons to reset the remote pairing remote etc...

None of these solutions have worked. The remote itself works as it should manually. No problems there. Voice just will not work after I've done a reset a re-pairing It might work once. Then ask for time or channel and nothing when I hold down the mic button I get a little thing on the bottom of the TV that says press and hold the button while you speak even though I'm doing that.

    Before proceeding, may I know when and where you purchased this remote? Also, can you please confirm if this is the Roku Voice Remote Pro 1st or 2nd edition? You may refer to this page to help you identify this remote:

    In the meantime, please confirm if you've pressed the Back and Home buttons simultaneously for about 20 seconds to reset it. You may also refer to our support article, which is dedicated to this.

      I have what I believe is the second edition voice remote. And yes I have tried resetting by holding the home and back button for 20 seconds. I have tried resetting at least 10 times now. Still the voice function does not work. Like I said the manual function no issues... I'm just sorry that I spent the extra money for this at this point 

      Was purchased from Walmart about a month and a half ago.

        Mine is doing thw same thing. I have a love hate relationship with this Voice remote pro 2. The hands free  voice command  sucks. It stopped working completely after ONE WEEK of ownership! And thw manual one only works every once in a while. This thing needs work badly.

      I've followed all instructions several times. It's still not working - even for the brand new Voice Remote Pro - I'm wondering if there was a flaw in the recent upgrade... See my other recent posts for more details - user name is spring1

  • I am having the save exact problem. I just purchased the remote pro 2 in May 2024 and the voice command has stopped working. Nothing seems to fix it. Trying the hints on the support articles and the info in this community doesn't seem to work. Very disappointed. I hope it can be fixed. The other features on the remote work and I am happy with that. It is only the voice manual command and the voice automatic command that does not work.

      • When did you first notice that the voice command feature was not working?
      • Did your device recently receive any software update prior to this happening that might have triggered this issue?
      • What specific troubleshooting steps have you taken to try to fix this?

         I tried the 20 second hold per your instructions and all it did was start to blink the light and then stopped blinking and got caught on a page and would not release the page. It tried several different options such as turning off the roku and turning it back on, pressing different buttons but it was just caught. Finally after pressing everything it would release to "live" but live would not change to any other option except to go back to the caught up page. Then after pressing all kinds of buttons, it finally released but voice still did not work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • The voice command doesn't work the microphone doesn't work and sometimes the remote won't even turn on even after it's been charged for a day or so and then randomly I'll pick it up in the backlight works and this is a Pro 2 remote but it'll start working randomly or when I plug it up again it'll work and then I can unplug it but I've never been able to get the hands-free or the microphone to work on this since I bought but I went on forms and watch YouTube videos and there's nothing on it about it and I've tried everything I've seen on the website. If this can't be fixed how much will it cost to be replaced I think it's been maybe a year

      Let's perform the troubleshooting step below to resolve the issue.

      Reset your Roku remote.

      • If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
      • If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back 

        and Home for 20 seconds.

      Additionally, please be guided by the information below on how long you can charge the remote for better battery performance

      • Roku Voice Remote Pro: From empty, a full charge takes 3 hours and typically lasts 2 months. Using Headphone Mode will drain the battery more quickly.
      • Roku Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition): From empty, a full charge takes 5.5 hours and typically lasts 3 months.
