Remote not working - not connected

My remote is not working.  It worked yesterday, today it is stuck on the home screen.  I have changed the batteries, I have unplugged everything, I have tried to repair the remote.  on the home screen it says not connected.  Not sure how to reconnect if my remote won't work.

    I believe "not connected" on a Roku home screen refers to the Roku not being connected to the internet.  Sometimes the quickest fix for that is to reboot the router.  (Power cycling is fine.)

      All my other tv's with Roku's are working and my computers are working so it's not the internet.

        Carrie04, what Roku device (model number would be nice) do you have?  If it's a stick with the Wi-Fi receiver embedded in the USB cable you'll see exactly what you're seeing if the cable isn't being used or has failed.
