Remote issue requires device reboot

I have a Roku Streaming Stick 4K, about every 5 or six days, the remote control device basically stops working. Only the power button and the volume buttons will work, nothing else will. The only solution to this problem is to reboot the stick itself. Brand new batteries in the remote, I tried reconnecting the remote, nothing works but rebooting the device. Which really sucks cuz now I have to sign into all the apps that I used to stream. Anybody else have this issue, any idea what might be causing us,

Simply rebooting/restarting the SS4K shouldn't result in a Factory Reset or logging you out of all your apps.

Make sure you are using the supplied USB power adapter (do not use the TV's USB ports, as they may not supply enough power and may be the source of your weird reboot Factory Reset or app de-authentication behavior).

    Otherwise:

    1) Next time it happens try removing (for 5 seconds) and replacing the batteries in the remote.

    2) If it persists:  Make sure your SS4K is connected to a 5Ghz-only SSID and manually configure the 5Ghz channel to 36 or 149 (You can separate your SSIDs and manually configure the 5Ghz channels in your modem/router/gateway settings if necessary).

This happens to me too. But not the same way. I'll notice that it's harder and harder to turn on the tv. The remote becomes less powerful and more sensative to direction.

However, if I reboot the remote, and then power cycle the stick, its all happy. I can point the remote almost anywhere.

On a side note, all but one of my TVs can turn on and go to the HOME screen by pushing just the HOME button on the remote. But one needs the power button, then the HOME button. Weird.

      Hi there! NPC

      Thanks for letting us know!

To dig deeper into this issue, could you provide a bit more information?

      • The model number of the remote.
      • Have you tried other troubleshooting steps? Like replacing the batteries, doing a software update, re-pairing the remote, etc.
      • When and where did you purchase this remote?

In the meantime, I recommend downloading the Roku mobile app. We would like to know if you run into the same problem when using it. Here's the link to download the app for free.

      Keep me posted!
