Remote intermittently working

New Roku. The voice remote all of a sudden will only intermittently work. It will all of a sudden stop responding when buttons are pressed. Then a few moments later, it will work and then delay again. I have tried replacing the batters, restarting the system, repairing the remote, nothing is helping. It is incredibly frustrating and can’t seem to find an answer to fix it.
